The first day of the forecasted week+ of bonkers wind. :)

No groundswell today therefore no point in tackling the more complicated launches at the wavier beaches so sailed at tropical paradise beach. We checked out Uppers first but the waves there were a complete mess - worse than Hove on a good day. Sailed downwind to Lowers which was much better. The swell was small but the occasional boom high set did push in and as before at Kanaha the waves were really clean. I began the day on the 4.5 then changed down to a 4.2 Superfreak on rental from Hotsails Maui for the day. Wow! What a sail. Soooo light yet stable and comfortable in the howling gale and on the wave wowser wowser wowser. The sail goes absolutely completely neutral - I was completely surfing the waves at times as if I didn't have a sail at all. I am now seriously considering a quiver update...

A solid 4 star session with plenty of 5 star moments - all of them on the Superfreak.
